Monterey Jazz Festival, 2016

The 59th Monterey Jazz Festival was a showcase of jazz legends sharing the spotlight with the next generation of music makers. By all accounts, the future of the music looks to be in great hands!

From a memorable tribute to Quincy Jones, to Q on stage checking out teenage Indonesian piano prodigy Joey Alexander’s trio, as well as introducing internet sensation and one-man-band Jacob Collier, this year’s festival represented multiple generations…and variations…of jazz. Plus, blues, funk and much more.
